Im Rahmen der „Langen Nacht Der Bilder“ September 2013 und der Berlin Art Week konnte ich in den Räumen des Pförtnerhauses der ehemaligen SED-Fahrbereitschaft und jetzigen Haubrok art space in Berlin Lichtenberg eine audio-visuelle Installation zeigen.
Im Hauptraum mit vergitterter Fensterfront lagen Sammeleditionen Neues Deutschland von 1975-1989 aus.
Ein audio-loop beschallte den Raum mit Propaganda-Parolen, Militäraufmärschen, und DDR Kinderliedern. Per Tastendruck konnte der Besucher zusätzliche Sounds einspielen.
Durch den Flur gelangte man in den Betriebsraum1, wo der 16 mm DEFA Film , „Die DDR, ein fester Bestandteil der sozialistischen Staatengemeinschaft“ aus den frühen 70er Jahren, gezeigt wurde.
Durch eine Stahltür mit Sichtfenster ging man in den BetriebsraumII, einen mit Styropor und DDR Tapete ausgestatteten Raum.
Dort wurde das Video „Spurensicherung“gezeigt, eine audio-visuelle Reihung der gebräuchlichen Abkürzungen aus Partei und Massenorganisationen der DDR.
During the Berlin Art Week, Sept.2013 I presented the audio- visual installation SPURENSICHERUNG, shown in three rooms of the gatehouse of the former SED motor pool and the current Haubrok Art Space, Berlin Lichtenberg.
In the main room with barred windows people could look through „Neues Deutschland“, SED newspaper during GDR-period – editions of 1975 – 1989. Simultaneously they were to listen to an audio loop: propaganda slogans, folk and military marches and popular children’s songs. By pressing a key on a keyboard , the visitor could import additional sounds.
Through the hallway you came into the BetriebsraumI, where a 16mm DEFA film , “ the GDR , an integral part of the socialist community “ from beginning 1970s was shown. Through the steel door with integrated spion-window one could pass to the BetriebsraumII, equipped with styrofoam and GDR-wallpaper, on which the viewing of the video SPURENSICHERUNG took place – an audio-visual ranking of the common abbreviations of party and mass organizations of the GDR. The rapid change of flash brightness, evoked by the viewing and the subsequent dark exposed the observer to an almost physical attack. The association was created to interrogation practices .
